Lapsed Learners Lesson Guide

If you gave up on driving because you didn’t get on with your instructor, because your practical test was a nightmare or simply because life got in the way, you’re way ahead of a lot of people. You’ve probably got quite a lot of experience and skills under your belt already, it just needs a bit of tweaking. We’re here to help you build confidence on the road, pass your test and become a safe driver for the rest of your life.

Even failing your driving test is not the end of the world. In fact, if you already know what it’s like to sit a test, you can prepare yourself better for the big day. We’ll help you figure out what went wrong the first time round and we’ll work on that with you. In our experience, the most common stumbling blocks are:

  • Hazard awareness
  • The Mirrors – Signal – Manoeuvre routine
  • Approaching junctions and roundabouts
  • Traffic signs
  • Changing gear
  • Speed
  • Emergency Stop
  • Parallel parking
  • Turing your car
  • Adjusting to weather conditions
  • Moving off uphill

Refresher Learners Lesson Guide

Why would you need driving lessons if you already have your licence?

If getting in the driver’s seat makes you sweat or if you’re not used to driving on the left, refresher courses can give you the extra bit of confidence you need. Refresher driving lessons can also help you polish up your parking skills and turn you into a safer driver by night and in wintry conditions.

Even if you’re a safe, confident driver, a refresher session might optimise your gear changes so that you can save money on maintenance and fuel while reducing your carbon footprint.

Pass Plus Course Lesson Guide

Ever wondered why it can be so expensive to get car insurance for new drivers?  It is because after 40 to 80 hours of driving experience, most people forget that they are still an inexperienced driver.

Obviously the last thing you want is to have an accident.  So what are the options for reducing the chance of being involved in an accident?  A Pass Plus course will enable you to gain confidence and experience after passing your test, including learning how to reduce the risk of accidents.

There are a number of insurers that will give you a discount on your insurance premium if you have completed a Pass Plus course.  There also are a number of local authorities who will help with the costs of Pass Plus training – check out GOV.UK for the full list, as they may fund 50% of your course!

The Pass Plus course takes at least 6 hours and you will receive in-car tuition on:

  • Dual carriageways
  • Motorway driving
  • Rural roads
  • Complicated city situations
  • All weather conditions
  • Night driving

Speak to your instructor about a Pass Plus course once you have booked your practical test.
